How do you react when it burns? The Kreisfeuerwehrverband Bautzen e.V. and the K&L Verlag have set themselves the goal of answering this question in a way that is suitable for children and have published an easy-to-understand colouring and work book on fire protection for girls and boys of kindergarten and primary school age.
We find: This is a good thing and we support this project!
Because fire protection also plays an important role in rail vehicles. The most common causes of fire in rail vehicles are the ignition of seats due to vandalism or carelessness as well as technical defects in electrical systems.
For this reason, the railway fire protection standard EN 45545 must already be observed during the design phase. This standard contains a wide range of fire protection requirements in order to minimize the probability of a fire occurring on the one hand, and to limit the speed and extent of fire development in the event of a fire on the other.
It is mandatory that every rail vehicle is equipped with a fire detection system, such as smoke detectors, and a fire fighting system, such as fire extinguishers or sprinkler systems, in order to minimize the effects of a fire on passengers and personnel as much as possible. Our company therefore employs trained specialist personnel, who apply all their knowledge to the design in order to minimise possible dangers from a fire in advance.
