Within the framework of a joint project supported by the initiative “Mittelstand 4.0”, the companies CE cideon engineering, Sporer PCS and Plasmanitriertechnik Dr. Böhm would like to test the possibilities of Augmented Reality in the maintenance of a cleaning system for workpieces with the support of Fraunhofer IWU.
Using mobile terminals such as Tablet PC or data glasses, work steps are visualised directly on the system. This enables even people without specialist knowledge to carry out the work and reduces the susceptibility to errors. The integration of real-time plant data also paves the way for predictive maintenance. In the event of problems, a specialist can be called in at any time via a camera integrated in the data glasses.
The aim of the funded project is to compare different mobile devices and to gather experience in preparation for commercial use of these technologies.
